You've seen the sneak peeks on my instagram and now you get to see the whole thing!
Back in February, I teamed up with my girl Sophie of Sophie Fortier Photography and created magic. Our vision for this shoot was to have a romantic winter wonderland shoot. The day of the shoot, you could say it was the definition of Winter in Canada - freezing rain hit us hard. We treated this shoot as any other wedding - the show must go on! Both Sophie and I are a go with the flow type gals and cancelling to us was just not an option. Plus, we had about 15 vendors taking place in this and cancelling with them meant there could be a chance that they wouldn't be able to take part at a later date. I mean, the images speak for themselves - I'm so glad we didn't cancel it! Our models braved the cold, ice-y and wet sidewalks (I totally fell when we first arrived - go Klutsy Leesa!) as well as put up with our crazy vendor selves that happens with a shoot this big!
Setha and Chris were our first model couple to take part in this shoot. They met in high school, have been together for 12 years and have 4 amazing children together. They were the sweetest couple to hang out with all day and joking about "which kid they love the most" turned into a fit of giggles when they said "we don't have a favourite" at the exact same time. You can just feel the amount of love coming from these two looking at the images.
We also had a second couple, Lacey and Veronica! This was a new thing for both Sophie and I - having two couples for one shoot - and we would do it over again in a heartbeat! - like I always say, two is better than one! Lacey and Veronica met while at Algonquin College where Lacey is a Theatre Supervisor. She called security for an incident taking place in the theatre and Veronica was the one responding to the call. Afterwards, they got to chatting and realized they could be great “friends.” They knew right away they wanted to be together and have not looked back since. 3 years later in the exact spot they met, they got engaged! They are super excited to be planning their own wedding to be taking place next May.
When you do a styled shoot, I think one of the benefits is meeting new fellow vendors in the industry. This shoot, Sophie and I both just wanted to hang out with everyone! Everyone was just so chill, fun and we literally laughed the ENTIRE day - legit, my face hurt when we were all done! I would be down to meet over a pitcher of Sangria and hang out with all these people again (seriously, hit me up guys!) We had SUCH a great team and look forward to meeting, and working, with them all again in the near future!
